This article provides a comprehensive guide to the general maintenance of your elliptical machine. We refer to this guide whenever we encounter noise issues with the unit, and it will also help prevent similar concerns in the future. Let's take a moment to review the key points.
Maintenance Overview
For lubrication, we recommend using one of the following: silicone oil, marine grease, or lithium grease.
Step-by-Step Maintenance Instructions
-
Remove Protective Covers: Start by taking off the protective plastic covers to access the hardware.
-
Tighten Screws: Check and tighten the screws that connect the upper and lower swing arms. Also, ensure the screws where the lower swing arm meets the long pedal support bars are secure.
-
Lubricate Pedal Support Bar: Detach the pedal support bar from the rear by removing the screw. Lubricate the exposed rod that extends from the crank cover before reassembling.
-
Lubricate Swing Arms: You can also remove the upper swing arms from the axis (17) and apply lubricant to this area before reinstalling them.
By following these steps, you can maintain your elliptical effectively and help prevent noise issues in the future.
Secure Stabilizers: Ensure that both the front and rear stabilizers are tightened as much as possible to minimize any wobbling. Check the adjustable wheel on the back stabilizer to ensure it's properly set. Additionally, verify that the end caps are level with your flooring to prevent any rocking or swaying during use.
Inspect Handlebar Post and Mainframe: Carefully lift the plastic cosmetic cover at the lower end of the handlebar post and mainframe. Ensure that all screws are tightened securely. Additionally, check for any damage to the frame at the bottom that supports the handlebar tube.
Handle with Care: Please note that we are not disconnecting any cables. When reinstalling the handlebar tube onto the frame, be careful not to pinch the rainbow wiring to avoid any damage.
